Red White and Blue Burger

Makes 4 servings

To celebrate the summer, this burger is rich in flavor, and the perfect burger especially for those blue cheese lovers!

 

1-pound grass-fed 85/15 ground beef

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, divided

1/2 teaspoon celery salt

1/2 teaspoon sea salt, divided

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

4 potato roll buns

4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter

1/4 cup good quality mayonnaise

1 tablespoon sour cream

1 1/2 teaspoon white wine vinegar

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

1 teaspoon raw unfiltered honey

4 slices red tomato

1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese

1 cup arugula

 

Preheat grill to 450°.

 

In a large bowl stir together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon paprika, celery salt, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and ground black pepper. Divide mixture into 4 equal balls and form into patties about ½-inch thick.

 

Add burger patties to grill and cook for about 3 minutes per side or until the desired doneness. Remove from the grill and place on a platter.

 

Brush buns with butter and place on the grill to lightly toast. Remove immediately and add to the platter.

 

Meanwhile, in a small bowl stir together the mayonnaise, remaining 1/2 teaspoon paprika, sour cream, white wine vinegar, dill, and honey and stir until combined.

 

To assemble the burger: Spread about 1 tablespoon of the mayonnaise mixture onto the top bun. Place the burger patty on the bottom bun and top with blue cheese, tomato, and arugula then place the top bun on top. Serve immediately.
